September is a great time, believe it or not, to be Patriotic. The Constitution was approved by the Constitutional Convention in September of 1787. Patriot Day is September 11th, a day to remember the agonizing events of 9/11 in the year 2001. President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was proclaimed in September as well.

Besides these patriotic historical items, think along the lines of Back to School: International Literacy Day, Library Card Signup Month, and National Punctuation Day! Here are some activities to make September meaningful to YOU.
